Okay DJ, you requested this and here it is...The Game... Wealthy financier Nicholas Van Orton gets a strange birthday present from wayward brother Conrad: a live-action game that consumes his life. First off, most films ask you to suspend your disbelief. This film asks you to completely kill it. This film as a ton of intrigue and suspense and thrills, however the leap it keeps asking you to make at the end, and in a few places really can be hard for some movie goers to swallow. so many instances could the outcome have been different, what if he decided to jump off a different ledge? what if he didnt have that key with him in the elevator? lots of what ifs and a few plot holes along the way keep this film from being completely believable. However, leave it to movie master David Fincher to still keep us entertained and gripping the arms of the seat. Yes this movie will have you guessing right up to the very end. Great performances from Michael Douglas and Sean Penn, great pacing and wonderful tension. and with more than enough OMG WTF?!?!? moments, this film is an enjoyable viewing. in the hands of another director though it easily could have failed. Sorry DJ I have been a little rough on your films lately, Man Of Steel and now The Game, but I have to put personal feelings aside and be honest and judge a film for what it is. This is a very solid 3/5 rating. I would watch this again one day, as a rental. DJ I know you liked Fight Club, that review will be coming soon.
