Okay, Day 2 of positive uplifting however minimally etc postings. I know lots of people who dont like Bruce Springsteen and in some of those cases they just really dont like him, because what they like in music isnt to be found on a Bruce Springsteen record but in the world of technotrance or bebop or whatever. But some of em dont like him because they are resistant to what liking Bruce Springsteen seems to involve, which is buying into a whole package, a kind of cult of personality; being a fan, which started right at the beginning of his career with the massive hype that surrounded him and was so pervasive that even 40 years later his most ardent attempt to shake off the whole Boss thing can seem meticulously contrived. Well I can understand all that. I dont like him in that sense. But hes written some great songs and not liking him too devoutly would mean not having access to those great songs, and life is short.
