Okay I am gonna be brutally honest with you guys about my angioplasty experience last Tuesday. The x-Ray showed I had 2 narrow areas in my fistula so my blood flow was down. They had to use a balloon on the end of a large needle to open those areas. They gave me meds to keep me comfortable. I could not tell they had given me anything and I felt the entire excruciating procedure. I cried and complained through it all and the staff did very little to comfort me. They gave me Tylenol in recovery and sent me home crying and hurting. My arm is very bruised and swollen but this is apparently common with angioplasty. My concern is that my hand is cold and tingling. I am told this is probably because the fistula is taking blood flow from my hand now that it is open and my other veins should compensate. My prayer request is that my other veins cooperate... I cannot imagine losing my hand and I admit I am scared! If you made it through this post, thanks for listening!
