Okay, I know its a great movie but, Lego Movie you so much - TopicsExpress

Okay, I know its a great movie but, Lego Movie you so much disappointed me. First of all, I couldnt take my eyes off that silly seam in the hair of Emmetts head but thats not the real problem. Where do I begin? Okay, well, Ill have to agree that the ideas were so great. The animation, awesome, but here we go again with that stereotypical plot line of a male character leading an adventure with several other male characters with the odd chick thrown in, who, in this movie is just really batmans girlfriend, that is, until Emmett somewhat indiscriminately asks BATMANS permission if he can have her for himself at the end of the movie. Not only is Batman unrealistically OK with it, but more annoyingly EVERYONE seems to be. Come ON!!! Women are NOT prizes! Why do so many modern movies continue to cast them as such?? I often start watching some movies beginning right away to feel sorry for the lead female as she will undoubtedly end up in a relationship of some kind, once shes been saved by the male hero. Apparently when that happens, ladies, you are expected to give yourself over to whoever saved you and be grateful for it too. Since this is a family movie, I also disagree with how the movie unimaginatively took the plot line down the road of someone lusting after another persons girlfriend or partner and everything being just hunky dorey okay with everyone because after all, they were meant to be. Since when do we want to encourage our kids to follow their heart no matter what? I dont and wont. Love and relationships are, unfortunately a lot more practical than that. Feelings always cloud common sense and if you lose your common sense, how can that ever be called love? Lego Movie... Very disappointing.
