Okay. Serious topic here. I know we all like to fly, right? But HOW MUCH DO YOU REALLY like to fly? As often as possible? Daily? And while the hobby can be pricey, it isnt all that unobtainable, correct? So. When we build and labor for hours and have a crash after weeks of prep and fun flights, WHY would we sit for days and weeks waiting on parts? When I first got started good in the hobby I had experienced pilots to help me. (By good I mean after the 13 years from my first attempt to my next attempt). And one thing that I learned to do was to prepare a crash kit. The most common parts for my type of aircraft bought in between crashes, a little at a time, to have one or two reserves ready. It wont guarantee you will have everything depending on what was damaged, but each aircraft has the most common parts that most can agree always take a hit in a crash. From a spare servo, to torque tubes, main shafts, props, wheels, servo extensions, hinges, blades, landing skids, tail booms.... having the reserves on hands can get you back in the air in a quicker fashion. a little part here and there.. builds up over time. So. It is personal choice. I have crashed and been back up the same afternoon by having the common stuff on hand. And anything I didnt? It is easier to order 1 or two parts from a vendor and express them (in stock) versus 10 pieces from many vendors and wait months. Just something to think about and plan for if you opt to use this practice. Keep the wheels and skids up! - HD
