Okay, are you ready? Have I kept you waiting long enough? Drum roll please!!!!!! I am going to fulfill a 40 year dream. On September 1st, 2014 I am going to start at the end of the Newport Beach Pier and I am going to Walk Across America!!!!!! I expect that it is going to take 2 years walking to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Roberta is being as supportive as she can and understands that this will change our relationship. We love each other. I am going to make a Documentary called Walking To My Friends. My premise is that we as Americans have been fooled into thinking that we live in a country that is no longer safe. I believe that is wrong. I will depend on the goodness of others for my food and lodging. Therefore I am planning on sleeping by the sides of roads, in fields and behind buildings many nights. I will practice what I call Direct Charity, I am not starting a charity or a non-profit, instead I am going to ask for money from those that I meet along the way. I plan on living on 10% of those donations and passing on the other 90% to others that I meet who need some help. I know many of you will think this is just Dave being nuts again but, unfortunately this is just the first of several announcements I will be making this summer. I have made HUGE changes in myself over the last year. Some of the changes are going to be pretty difficult to share and even more difficult the hear. This is the easiest of all. I am planning on wearing 2 GoPro cameras, one on my chest facing away from me showing the path ahead and 1 on a mast facing me.
