Okay, design friends and artist friends and friends with a good eye for color... Im going to paint my front room - the room you enter when you come into my house. Right now its white, the last hold out from when I bought the house, other than the stairwell... There are wood chairs in the room - one is a throne - and a light gold velvet vintage sofa. The woodwork will be left unpainted and the floors are inlaid hardwood. The room next to it is sort of a sunset reddish/pinkish color and has dark woods and a red and pink and gold silk couch and dark lighting (think New Orleans bordello vibe). The dining room, which is the next room, is sangria red with a gold ceiling and again, has natural wood, big dining room table, etc. What color should I paint the entry room? No room in my house will be white or cream - those are NOT options. Im thinking of a yellow gold color (not metallic) slightly darker than the sofa. Thoughts?
