Okay, for now at least the FB hiatus is over. Thanks, appreciation, gratitude to all who have been so encouraging and to those who have included Kathy and me in their prayer concerns. Heres the latest...and I dont intend to dwell on the situation and drone on and on, so absent a momentous event, periodic updates will not be very periodic... The lump in my neck is in fact a small cell (Merkel) malignancy in the lymph node. Unfortunately, it travelled there from a 1.7mm tumor in my left lung. The good news is, with a positive outcome next week from an MRI to ensure the little beasties havent migrated to my brain, that it is treatable. Looking at a combination of Chemo and targeted radiation for the next 18 weeks or so. Im told that the most usual side effects from the IV cocktail that I will get three days on/eighteen days off, repeat six times are total hair loss, bone-numbing fatigue and WTF???weight gain. All the horns are stored away for now, as are the tiny white sticks. Luckily for me, 40-45 years ago Bob Krichbaum and I were NCOs together in the local AFNG band here in Toledo. LtCol (ret) Krichbaum has graciously agreed to cover my butt on half a dozen or so conducting gigs that were on the books with the American Legion Band and a local community college band. Again, thanks friends. I am truly humbled by your lovingkindness.
