As theyre leaving the stage (Hollywood Bowl, 50 years ago tonight), John Lennon says, Were Dr. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. And...shortly thereafter wrote that as a song. But the studio balked for obvious legal reasons -- the makers of Dr. Pepper would probably want a piece of the album. So John changed it to Sgt. Pepper. But if you listen to the song and think Dr. Pepper, it makes a whole other kind of sense. Bob Eubanks swears this is a true story. Even if it isnt, it should be.
