Okay, my friend Jakob has already said the most important things on this. I wouldnt have much to add, but Id really love ALL OF YOU to read both the actual article (consisting of BTs tweets) and Jakobs comment, which goes like this: Guess what? BT has realized that EDM is a death trap for electronic music. First things first: Hes right. Its a short movement for kids that just love to take up their own movement, and somehow they got into electronic music. But it doesnt have something to do with the music inherently, it just is a coincidence. As soon as the kids grow older, their fandom will fade and the current way of hooks and big drops will, too. Secondly: Its sad to see a brilliant mind like BT realize this so late. He has headed in the same direction (and Above & Beyond have, too!) and his whole last album was about EDM, except from Skylarking which was genius! Im not sure if BTs changing his mind and stepping back from his current style, but Id love him to be an innovator again, not a follower of current trends.
