Okay, please bear with me as I go on a rant this morning. I am so - TopicsExpress

Okay, please bear with me as I go on a rant this morning. I am so tired of reading pet posts bashing vets because they expect up front payment from new patients. I understand vet care is expensive and when you are in an emotional state because something is wrong with your fur baby you just want it taken care of NOW. However I dont understand why everyone feels that the vet care more about money than helping your baby. Vets love animals which is why they went into that occupation. They have college loans, rent, utilities, medical and office supplies, payroll, taxes and misc. expenses just like you do. When you take on the responsibility of getting a pet, please make arrangements to care for your animal in all aspects not with just food and love. Put money back each paycheck so you have a cushion if you need it. Get your pets spay/neutered (there are many low cost options these days). Be diligent on having your pet up to date on their immunizations. If you do not have a secure area dont put them outside unless you stay with them. When you get a pet it should be for their lifetime, not until you get tired of dealing with them. Getting pregnant, having a new baby, moving, etc. are not valid reasons for needing to give up the pet you accepted responsibility for. They dont understand why you are walking away from them. Dumping one out is NEVER acceptable under ANY circumstance. I realize there are always exceptions, however it seems more of a rule anymore for things to just happen. Im sorry, for this rant and realize a lot doesnt make sense, but Ive read too many animal posts this morning and am just running in frustration mode. Now Im going to go love on my sweet little foster kittens and take them to the shelter for their boosters and check ups. Have a wonderful day and if you need a smile, hug your fur friends.
