Okay, so I havent been around much lately because you people are all going crazy for the Thermomix! Ive been busy doing demos, and running around like a headless chook in the meantime trying to get all of the usual day-to-day stuff done (my washing piles are suffering), and keeping the kids in check as behaviours are starting to indicate that the coming school holidays are very much needed! And to friends, family, colleagues, customers, demo guests: If I havent called you, or gotten back to you, its not that Ive forgotten - I literally havent had a quiet 5 minutes to gather my thoughts to send a text or make a call. I should be back on planet Earth early next week! ;) The snippets of time I have managed to steal have been spent fiddling with my Thermomix to get to know it better so I can share it with all of you. I feel like Im cheating on my TM31. A late night home from a demo earlier in the week saw me dining on a reheated jacket potato with TMX mayonnaise, coleslaw, and Greek yoghurt. I always love the idea of the jacket potato. I think its been years since I made them. They were ideal for a rushed weeknight dinner, but got a rather lukewarm reception which surprised me. I think the clan expects more from me now. Ha! Master 8 made custard the other morning as we were a bit light on for lunchbox snacks. This morning was no different, so I whipped up a batch of the delicious Tuna Dip from the EDC. Its always a winning one with carrot sticks and celery. I also cooked the kids scrambled eggs with ham and cheese…it was supposed to be an omelette but I was half asleep and automatically added a heap of milk! The guided cooking function of the TM5 would have served me well this morn. The accompanying blueberry banana milk kefir smoothie was an absolute winner - delish! I was having too much fun so made a Yoghurt Cake using the Recipe Chip/guided function. I used my TMX yoghurt (of course) and spelt flour. It worked out really well. The kids will demolish it tomorrow. Next up I made a loaf of bread but used milk kefir whey in place of the water, and threw in some of my green powder. I let the dough do a partial second rise before putting it into the oven. The texture of this bread is fabulous. Perhaps the whey? I then raced off to help my sister-in-law unpack after moving house with a 1-week old! Crazy woman. I got lots of newborn cuddles, and photos, and goosebumps, and clucks. Oh dear! Id best go sleep it off.
