Okay, so I normally dont post things like this but today, I feel the need. {BEGIN RANT.} There is so much controversy over the new movie Noah that hit theatres on Friday. First let me start by saying, I have NOT seen the movie yet. I am going to on Wednesday with my Connect Group. Everyone is making such a big deal about the fact that the Director is a self-proclaimed atheist and that it the movie does not line up with scripture. Here are just a few reasons why I support the movie without even seeing it: The fact that CHRISTIANS are the once causing the controversy and uproar to begin with, makes me laugh. You are doing nothing more but proving to people how pharisaical you are. You have a movie that can potentially draw in millions of non-believers, but because it may or may not be 100% in line with scripture you are going to tear it to shreds and degrade its name? Who the heck do you think you are? Get over yourself and start sending glory to God that Hollywood is finally taking a step in the right direction! HELLO PEOPLE... A movie about a character from the Bible has hit the BIG SCREEN! Shut up about the details and point back praise to God that Hollywood is actually allowing this to happen! Also, the fact that you have such big time actors playing in a biblical based movie is HUGE deal. You have a name like Russell Crowe playing such a well known biblical character and that will bring in audiences. Which will then expose people to a story from the Bible that they may have never have heard of before. Whether it is 100% in alignment with the biblical fact or not is besides the point. It is Hollywood... there has to be cinematic enhancements to make the movie sell. Do you ever stop to think that maybe the fact that people go and see it in theatres may spark an interest in getting people to read the actual story? God says in His word that he can use ALL things for HIS glory. So stop boycotting the dang thing and get behind it! Pray that God will use this for His glory and His benifit. You dont own copyrights to Gods Word. So stop acting like you can dictate how it is used and portrayed. Just be glad that it is drawing people in and that God will use it to make HIS name famous. {END RANT.}
