Okay, so, Magan Rodriguez told me she would like to see my recent haiku turned into a longer poem, so, here it is: In a Dream I dreamt in stars, A brilliant white noise Caught in an eternal darkness. The moon slept, so curious, As traces of lost clouds Drifted in search of the sun. The tail of the Northern Lights Wagged through shadows Which read a story to me Only they could understand. I dreamt in stars; Specks of humanity from yesterday Folded into the midnight hour. And my hands closed around the thought That I could hear you whisper About a love that was lost. The hands of time lay still. I dreamt in stars And found myself wandering As the Earth turned on end And I felt myself fall. The universe sang to me, Yet I could not hear it. Phantoms swiped at tears, Yet they continued to fall... Until I was lost. Once again, I could hear you whisper; Perhaps my name lay in your mind. And while you dreamt of stars, I was unsure of what you said.
