Okay, so as some may know, I love the LOS series, but the ending/Act III of LoS 2 left MUCH to be desired. Its obvious that the game lacked direction, was rushed, and probably wasnt even finished. Instead, we get the random, quick deaths of characters, and an unsatisfying conclusion after being promised a conclusion that would be incredible, and talked about for ages. Well, I guess we -are- talking about it, but probably not the way they wanted. That said, I came up with a preferred second half of the game, and Id like to throw it out there. First off, Dracula never did truly evil things. Most of the game he is a tormented soul. I would have made it a true open world where civilians are quite present, and you must regularly feed off of them. The more you feed, the more you are looked for, sort of like a GTA-esque star system, so youd have to keep it chill. Then we get into the never-explained Dracula memories of his castle. My theory is that it isnt a memory (as the game says over and over) but is physically present in an alternate dimension, almost like a ghost of the Castle. This can be proven because the blood leaves the memory and enters the real world, and the second acolyte is brought into it. That is not a memory. That is a place. So while Dracula does Zobeks bidding, he constantly visits this astral plane of Castlevania on his own to gain his powers, and Zobek is unaware. The ghosts that Dracula meets of his family and those he has killed (the Castles consciousness egging him on to do its own bidding) convince him to merge dimensions, meaning that there would be an artifact/way to combine the present, modern Wygol City with his Castle, and restore himself to ultimate power. This becomes his personal quest, with Zobeks quest of stopping Satan taking a back seat (without Zobek knowing, obviously.) Victor would not face the pitifully moronic fate he is given in the game, but would be a recurring boss that appears regularly to battle Dracula, sort of like a very strong mid-boss. Hell get defeated and come back for you later. And speaking of Victor, his character is tweaked in my version: Hes not the noble man we see, but someone filled with a rage against his twisted destiny. After Simon becomes the head of the Brotherhood, the Belmonts are bred like cattle to battle their evil patriarch, should he ever arise again. So when Victor, someone trained from birth to destroy his ancestor meets Gabriel in the church, his line of I am the last of my illustrious clan would be filled with an insane rage as he prepared to fulfill the destiny of his ruined existence. But onwards. And this is where things get slightly dicey: The plot goes along as normal, and Satan shows up, and we get the big Alucard reveal etc. Everything plays out as usual except there wouldnt be a pussy, rushed titan battle. And now, after Alucard is defeated, Gabriel slams the combat cross into him, and Satan is like I cant believe you did that. Gabriel reveals -his- plan now to his dying son and a now pants-shit Satan. Gabriel has regained all of his tremendous strength and has decided that this world belongs to him, now. Satan can either be his slave or go back to Hell. Satan, being filled with his legendary hubris then fights Gabriel. Of course, you kill him. And when he dies, you get some artifact: The thing you need to merge the dimensions. And so you do. You enter CV to use it it in the Throne room, but Victor has followed you in. THIS is where they would do the famous SOTN lines, and then youd have a brief battle. Victor is defeated, and left for dead and Gabriel merges the dimensions. The the modern city is ravages as your Castle rises, and Dracula rises to full power, more than -ever- before. …. thus ends the first half of the game. Now the military shows up for real. Im talking F-22 Raptors ripping through the air, dogfighting Gaibon and Harpies, being blown out of the air, etc., while NATO does battle with Draculas ground beasts as his begins a new reign of terror. This is where my ideas ran out, haha. I want to play a Dracula taking on a modern military force (as much as I loved the steampunk military in LOS2), but…. ….. I wondered if from this point on we should take on the role of the surprisingly resilient Victor Belmont, who survived his last encounter with Dracula. He plays like Gabriel from LOS1, although with some differences of course, and you play a sort of traditional CV game in a way where you siege the Castle (basically the areas you play in would be equivalent to the different levels from CVI) fighting off the classic monsters and the helping/fighting an overwhelmed and bewildered NATO as well, and then eventually finish off Dracula (who has a monstrous second form. Not that overweight Dragon talisman shenanigans) Of course, along the way, youll have to fight Death, as hes now become one of Draculas favorite pets after the return of CV (classic role reversal) Thats my two-cents. Or million bucks. Konami can pay me now for the novelization. Enjoy (?) Tim Evans
