Okay, so my good buddy Shanan sent me this Music Challenge. I love the idea of it, as I can get (hopefully) great music on my plate that I wouldnt normally dig in to. Now, I dont like the name or the rules, so Im changing them. Sorry Shanan! Its now called Awesome Music You Share With Your Friends, or AMY SWYF (Sounds Like Amy Swiff, or Amys Wife if you prefer). Who doesnt love acronyms!? Its one song a day for five days, you tag three friends once to share thier music choices with you for five days, and they can pick any theme they want. Examples: My favorite songs of all time, Songs on the Radio when I had my first kiss, Songs that remind me of High School, Songs that make me want to dance, Songs I love from the Dr. Demento Show, Or pick a different song each day for a different reason. Who cares!?... The theme doesnt matter, have fun with it and pick what you want to share with some people. And pick people who you think are going to have music youll be interested in hearing! Heres Mine~ Day 1 of Shanans AMY SWYF to me. Im picking songs of the seventies that bring me back to a set of very powerful anchored memories. Memories that bring back people, places, emotions, and other artifacts from another place and time. I love these songs... Even if theyre not that good as a song. Most of them are though. Im sending AMY SWYF Todays is by Dobie Gray. A song I remember from car rides with my mother in the early seventies. It reminds me of the smell of summer, a warm breeze on my face, sitting in the front seat with only a lap belt, and a view that was only the interior of the car, my mom, and the sky... And Dobie Gray asking the Boys to give him that beat that frees his soul. The one that frees mine too. Lets drift away together...
