Okay so new direction, decided it would be best to put The Wolf River on hold. I am now working on The Alpha Moon Saga. It is something that I feel should be written. Here is a sneak peek for you all. AD 1950 Echo Falls Maine “You need to remove yourself from my sight.” Amelia growled at her daughter in-law. No one who saw her like this would ever forget what truly lurked before them. It was usually the desperate or senseless that risked pushing the Prime to her limits. Amelia glared at Mina revealing the true monstrous beast that slept inside of her. Mina was here because she was out of options. “Once you agree to stop using my husband as your personal assassin.” Mina snapped back. Mina pushed until the Prime was on the verge of losing control. It has been a very long time since she had someone pushed her this far. Her golden eyes burned as she glared at the small frame blond haired woman who stood in front of her. The powerful thousand yard stare of the Prime had no effect on her daughter in-law; she was not one of her wolves. She closed her eyes and turned her head away from Mina. With a soft voice she spoke to her “Mina, you need to go home.” Mina crossed her thin arms over her chest. “Amelia…” It was in the pronouncing of her name that caused her temper to flare. The few wolves that had been in the house fell to the ground and whimpered. It was in this power that Amelia attested to her rule of those in her pack, the essence of an alpha. Amelia stood with her hands palms down on the kitchen table. The sound of her wolves whimpering echoed through the house. Mina stood firmly and did not drop her eyes from her mother in-laws. There was no way she was going to give up on something she cared about. She has grown tired of her husband coming home and not being able to be the man she loved. Her husband has given enough to his mother and this pack. In Mina’s mind she thought it was time that he was released from his obligations. Her mother in-law is blind to the changes that have occurred in Kole. She is the only one who is suffering from the alterations of her husband. “You are a human…you will never understand what it means to be pack.” Amelia snarled. Mina’s small fair skinned hands formed into two tight fists. This was the first time in her life that she has ever wanted to strike someone. “I KNOW MY HUSBAND, YOU ARE WRONG…”Mina shouted back. With that last line of words Mina spun around and stormed out of her mother in-laws home. It was a useless battle and she would never win no matter how hard she fought. Amelia was set in her ways and no one would sway her no matter what. Mina drove back home and burst into her house. She sat on the black leather love seat and waited for her husband to return back home. ***** Mina perked up as she heard the sound of Kole’s old Chevy truck pulling up. As she sat there she prayed and hoped that the man she loved would walk back into the house. The front door opened and Kole walked in stopping to stomp the mud from his boots. If he tracked it into the house his loving wife would skin him alive. Kole stepped around the corner and find Mina staring up at him with puffy red eyes. He knew that she had been crying. “Hello moon of my soul.” Kole said softly. Mina’s lush red lips formed into a smile. It has been to long time since Kole had called her that. She stood up from the couch and ran leaping into his arms. Mina wrapped herself around Kole’s tall lean body. She was afraid if she let go he would vanish from her once again. “I have missed you.” Mina muttered burying her tear filled face into the warmth neck. Kole returned her embrace and held his wife tightly as she sobbed. He knew that in the past year things have been really rocky for them. Being his mother’s assassin was taking too large of a toll on his marriage. He has been killing for far too long, in that time packs have come to call him the blood wolf. It was a title that did not set well with him. Since finding his mate Kole has come to hate the role he played. He knew that if his marriage was going to survive he would have to give up his dominate role in his pack. “I am sorry.” Kole murmured into Mina’s ear. Mina tightened her grip on him, taking in his sweet scent. Kole carried Mina into the bedroom and flung her onto the bed. She was one of those girls that liked it rough. She laid there and stared up into his intense hazel eyes. It was in his stare that she felt the same lust that boiled inside of her. It did not take long before Kole and Mina were intertwined and making love. Two hours past and they finally forced themselves to stop. If they did not stop they would spend the night wearing each other down. Kole rolled out of bed and sluggishly walked into the bathroom. After making love to his wife and the eight hour flight he was tired and need a nice hot shower to relax his body. Kole turned the shower on and the pipes in the wall started to moan. His house was old and it would take a bit for the water to heat up. As he waited Kole leaned over the sink and stared at his sweat covered reflection. The man he found in the mirror was someone he had not seen in a long time. His eyes were a striking hazel color; he had jet black hair and a trimmed beard to match. Kole was not built like most alpha wolves; his body was on slender side. Kole’s skin was a light bronze shade the mixture of his mother’s Norwegian heritage and that of his aborigine father. Just as the shower water warmed up a scent of blood wafted into the bathroom through the gaps in the door. Kole slowly opened the door and found his wife Mina lying in their bed covered in blood. “NO!” He roared as he ran scooping her up and pulling her into his chest. He sat there rocking back and forth as he held her lifeless corpse. “KOLE!” His mother yelled as she broke through the front door of the house. When she reached the room she stopped and her dark blue eyes grew large. Amelia stared at her son and she knew the truth. She moved slowly towards Kole, a low but noticeable growl erupted from her son’s mouth. “I mean you no harm.” She spoke softly with her hands held up. After a few minutes other members of the pack showed up including Doc the town Doctor. He managed to talk Kole into letting go of his dead mate. Doc took her and left Amelia to deal with her grief stricken son. She blamed herself for what had happened here. Mina came to her begging her for help and she pushed her away. She pushed Kole to hard and he finally snapped killing his own mate. The worst part of this was that he had no memory of doing it. Amelia has turned her only son in a true cold blooded killer. In this she knows that she has lost him as an enforcer. With her eyes held sharply onto her son, Amelia just is not sure how back this situation really is.
