Okay so...rant time. It ticks me off when people degrade another human beings religion then, when they get some backlash involving criticism as far as how theyre treating the existence and rights of others with their careless comments, they get all offended and come back with some rubbish like hey Im all for freedom of religion, but this is America I can say whatever I god damn want! Okay, yes...on one hand its true you have the freedom to say what you want, but on the other hand the real question is do you actually have to? Like you said, this is America, land of the free and home of the brave and when you insult a person living here who may live a different lifestyle, not only are you abusing your right to freedom of speech, but you are also shaming this country, inhibiting others freedom to practice their religion, and honestly being straight up cowardly by picking on the minority. Nobody wants to live with shade and loathing constantly being thrown his or her way. Its not safe, its not fair, and if this country is anything its cracked up to be, its not American. We have a responsibility to stand up for those trying to make lives here, and if you cant find it in your heart to do that, then at least have enough common courtesy to not harass them. These are children, mothers, fathers...families were talking about here. I dont know if this makes sense, I tried to get it out of my head as eloquently as possible, but essentially, the point Im trying to get across is that hate breeds hate. I know that today is a terrible memory of pain and suffering inflicted upon the US, but its also a reminder that we must always strive rise above our problems and come back stronger, but most importantly, wiser. In doing this, we raise the bar around the world for what it means to be human.
