Okay, so yes, Im purging. Im scrubbing a lot of trans stuff - leaving groups, unfriending and unfollowing many. . Some have asked me why. . Heres why: . I have reached a saturation point, where any more involvement is liable to make me at best jaded, and at worst, hostile towards trans people and trans interests. . I dont agree with many of you politically. I dont agree with many of you about trans activism and trans politics, which I often see as ultimately unproductive and self-serving. I am a feminist *first*. That is non-negotiable. Ive found that I disagree with many trans people on this point. Ultimately it is *feminism* that will liberate trans people. Trans activism, in its current form is largely superfluous, and sometimes oppressive. . I dont have a shared experience with many people who are trans. We have some things in common, but no more than I may have in common with a white person for being white. That doesnt mean I dont have a great deal in common with certain trans people, but its usually not centered around the fact that we are trans. . All of this is to protect my own mental health and to define the terms of what occupies my mind. .
