Okay, this is no April Fools. A friend of mine a few days ago suggested I share my story of how I have lost weight. (This is also not a spam or a bot. Its really me in all my nerdiness. lol) I have never been overweight and have always been considered a small gal anyway, but I knew I was not healthy or in shape. Right around Christmas, I decided to change that. I downloaded an app on my phone to help me keep track of what I ate and how much I exercised. I discovered I was taking in waaaaaaay too much sodium, although my fat content was not that bad. I also started walking and then when the gym opened across the street, I started working out more. In three months I have lost 13 pounds and two pants sizes. Now, before anyone starts telling me I didnt need to lose weight, let me just say this. I might not have needed to lose weight, but I needed to lose fat. I am slowly working on building muscle now, and I know that as I build muscle some of that weight may come back. And let me point out that I didnt give up my sweets, carbs, or any other good stuff found in food. I just started making smarter choices as to how I consumed the good stuff. Smaller portions. Food that is better for you (a lot more fruits and veggies). Eating sweets, but in moderation. And on occasion, I splurge. Like on Super Bowl Sunday. (Just ask Dennis Brown and Roxie Graham-Marski. lol) It takes determination. It takes willpower. But if I can do it, anyone can! If you need encouragement on your journey, let me know. It feels so good to be buying smaller jeans, and I am healthy, not sickly. If you want to lose weight, do it smart. You still need to eat, but you dont need a Big Mac to fill your tummy. :-)
