Okay yall... I did it... it wasnt easy and I did glaze over - TopicsExpress

Okay yall... I did it... it wasnt easy and I did glaze over mentally a few times... but as promised, I watched the press conference so you didnt have to. If that isnt taking one for the team, I dont know what is. First, Id like to point out that dear leader is looking rough. Just thought Id throw that out there. Secondly, he was careful to take blame several times rather than directly pointing the finger at someone else. Albeit, there were many backhanded blames thrown in. Thirdly, he showed up 30 minutes late and whatnot... typical. At the end of the speech, basically, we dont have a solution or plan put forth. He said that it is up to the state insurance commissioners and the health care insurance companies to allow people to keep their plans. He put in a grandfather clause into the bill, but it was insufficient. The individual market place consists of JUST 5% of the population and that his If you like it you can keep it was more about the employer based plans and the medicaid and medicare people. Mmmmkay... whatever. He stated several times that the Affordable Care Act was NOT why people are losing their plans. I beg to differ as the ACA put regulations and mandates on what they had to offer which made the old plans obsolete. But then again... Im common folk and whatnot. When asked if he knew there were problems he stated he did NOT know. He said that, of course, he wouldnt have put out a website to the American people and promoted how easy it would be to use, if he knew there were problems. Again... who is running this thing, yo? Its HIS plan, its HIS website... why wasnt he following it closely? I have to call a bullsh*t on that one. Heres the basics: 1) Didnt know there were problems 2) The fix is that his grandfather clause sucked monkey balls and now its up to the states to decide if they are going to allow people to stay on existing plans. 3) Lots and lots of statements about how people need to go to the marketplace and see their options. (dude... enough already) 4) Lots of good has happened, such as the hundreds of thousands of people who have gotten Medicaid. (of course, this is expensive to the American people and if healthy people dont sign up for paid plans this whole thing tanks...no mention of that.) 5) The news only reports the bad things... not any of the good things. 6) And he threw in there that HE created the super awesome sanctions on Iran and has crippled their economy... just FYI. That is all folk... basically, we have no solution. ^tan
