Okay you guys, get ready for me to gush...or rant...or whatever you want to call it. I finished The Law of Moses last night. This book deserves a standing ovation. It needs to be made into a movie...and then 20 years later remade again. I rarely cry when I read (I do a lot when I write, not sure why) but I sat out my living room sobbing and hoping I wasnt waking up the rest of my family who was asleep. Then after I finished reading those tears followed me to bed where I tossed and turned and tried to process what I just read. I woke up feeling like I could cry again. Im awestruck. Im haunted. Im comforted. I dont even know how to make sense of it all except to say this is hands down the best book I have ever read. Thank you Amy Sutorius Harmon for this beautiful, touching book. Im not quite sure Ill ever be the same, and theres a huge part of me thinking, God, I really hope its this way.
