Okon Wary Of England -In Falconets’ World Cup Group Nigerian female under-20 squad, Falconets former coach, Edwin Okon has disclosed that his biggest worry in the team’s 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup group is England, but says they should not underrate their other pool rivals, Korea and Mexico. While predicting that the Falconets will not take Korea and Mexico for granted, Okon admitted that England are the major threat in Nigeria’s group and reasoned that it would be smooth sailing for the side once they overcome the lasses from Queensland. Okon described as very fair the Falconets’ group at the forthcoming competition in Canada, after the team were pitched in Group C with England, Korea Republic and Mexico during Saturday’s official draw at Montreal’s Windsor Hotel. The biennial 16-team global football showpiece will hold from August 5 to 24 in four cities of Edmonton, Moncton, Montreal and Toronto. Okon, who guided the Nigerian female under-20 side to a fourth finish at the last edition in Japan, said the dreaded opponents among the lots in the group are England. ““I’m excited and happy for the Falconets; it’s a very good one for the side. It’s a very good one for the Falconets with the exception of England the other group opponents, Korea Republic and Mexico can’t trouble the Nigerians. “England are the hard nuts in the group without being disrespectful to Korea and Mexico I’m confident the Falconets will power themselves through from the group. “Once we’re able to handle the English challenge successfully I’m sure the sky will be the limit to what the Falconets will achieve at the World Cup,” the current women’s senior national team, Super Falcons coach told supersport. Group A: Canada, Ghana, Finland, Korea DPR; Group B: Germany, USA, China PR, Brazil; Group C: England, Korea Republic, Mexico, Nigeria; Group D: New Zealand, Paraguay, France, Costa Rica.
