Oliver got expelled from Port Alfred High School. It was a trial period and even though he loved every minute of it, his very weak muscle tone and concentration caused problems and not the autism. His teacher advised OT everyday to increase his muscle tone which would improve his writing skills and not scribble. He would complete his work too early and bugged his fellow classmates. Amy was amazing with Oliver and we miss her so much. She was kept very busy with him. Without Amy he would have been expelled on day one. Port Alfred dont have an OT. The Dept of Education are trying to get him assessed for Cape Recife School in PE. This is an excellent remedial school. In the interim, I am in East London. Trying to do daily exercises with him and home schooling him and trying to get daily swimming lessons and OT. There are only 2 OTs that can help Ollies gross motor skills. The one is totally fully booked. Please pray the other one has some time for him. So many EL schools are also fully booked this year for Grade 1. Please advise if you know of any Grade 1 home schoolers or any advice. College Street is full but they are trying to help. Has anybody tried giving their children IQ tablets to help with concentration? Ollie is ADD. Also has anyone tried the biolink? He had one free treatment in Port Alfred but will need 40 treatments. Really appreciate feedback. Very stressed at the mo. We are temporarily living with my Mom in Gonubie. Olivers teacher said he is very intelligent and his reading he way above normal. Its the writing skills and muscles that need attention. We miss Amy sooooo much. Need to get back to PA to pack up our stuff too. Thanks a mil and please keep us in your prayers.
