Olivia did great during her cardiology appointment yesterday! She sat still for her echo and even fell asleep! The doctors say her heart function looks good, but the pressure gradient across her stent has doubled since her discharge from the hospital. This should be reflected in her oxygen saturations, but its not, they are still in the 90s. Oli is good at confusing the doctors! There wasnt much concern as of yet, so we got cleared till February! Well keep checking her sats at home to make sure theres nothing alarming in the meantime. Now, this is all up to Oli, but her cardiologist is predicting that we wont start talking about the Glenn (open heart surgery) until April when shes 6 months old. She even said Olivia **may** not need the procedure until shes a year old! Wouldnt that be great!? Again its all up to Oli though, we all know things can change in a heartbeat! As for her EEG results, we didnt hear what we were hoping for. Its not worse, which is good, but the test was moderately abnormal, suggesting presence of a seizure disorder of multifocal origin. Now we will be calling Monday to make another follow up appointment with the neurologist to further discuss what this means, in general and for Oli. But, all in all Id say the day was a win.
