Olympic gold medalist and Central Oregonian, Ashton Eaton , helped the Gala at The Riverhouse, the #CentralOregon Tourism Industrys annual fundraiser, celebrate its 22nd year and raise $289,766 for this years beneficiary ~ Education Foundation for Bend-La Pine Schools . (The check shows a different amount because additional funds were tallied after the check presentation.) Ashton delivered an inspiring keynote speech about the life lessons he learned growing up playing sports, made possible by the Education Foundation for Bend-La Pine Schools programs. A thank you goes out to everyone who helped make the event a success and especially to Ashton and his mom, Roz, for their gracious generosity and The Riverhouse Hotel & Convention Center for all they do for this event and the community!
