On 09/14/13 Deputies were dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire on southbound I-94 near 7 Mile Rd. Upon arrival Deputies observed a vehicle on the shoulder of the Interstate that had the front end fully engulfed in flames. Contact was made with the driver and occupants of the vehicle, who had made it safely out. The operator said that he heard a noise from the engine compartment and saw some smoke coming from the front of the vehicle. He stopped on the shoulder to inspect the smoke and saw the start of a fire. Raymond Fire was able to extinguish the fire without incident. The vehicle was later removed from the Interstate and the occupants were picked up by family members. At this time there will be no further investigation into the fire by this Office.
