On 12/17/14, Coalition for Women Prisoners (CWP) members created the video below to stand in solidarity with Black Lives Matter. We met together to express outrage over the murders of Eric Garner, Michael Brown and so many others, and to lift up the names of Black women, girls and trans people who are also killed by the police yet whose stories often go unnoticed. We are deeply grateful to filmmaker Melanie Hibbert, to the Coalition members who spoke out, to the courageous people leading the Black Lives Matter movement, and to everyone who is part of the struggle for racial and gender justice.
