On 13 March 1979: The New Jewel Movement liberated Grenada & created the Peoples Revolutionary Government of Grenada under the leadership of Maurice Bishop. The Revolution was subverted by an illegal invasion of the US Military, and the assassination of the Revolutionary leadership, but their struggle still shines as a beacon for the entire African Diaspora.
