On 15th July,13 Women Leadership Alliance, Brady India chapter hosted its first guest lecture by Priya Krishnan, CEO of KLAY Pre School & Day Care. She was in ISS Brady campus to share her thoughts and experience on “Empowering Ourselves to Reach Our Potential”. Priya is an Engineer (Computer Science), MBA from London Business School and a certified financial analyst. She has worked with leading firms such as Andersen Consulting and Pricewaterhouse Coopers. Priya also has a flair for entrepreneurial roles, joining Bangalore Labs (2000-2003) which eventually was sold to a Singapore based firm. Priya also worked for seven years with Mphasis (2003-2010). She has worked globally across Singapore, New York, London and India. KLAY Pre School and Day Care is the vision of founder and CEO Priya Krishnan – a woman who is passionate about high quality education and technology. She is truly a self made woman who has managed work and family with the same vigor and emerged successful in both the venture. Priya addressing the crowd Few points which Priya mentioned were undoubtedly important for each one of us irrespective of what we do and where we come from, whether we are at higher level or just the entry level. Some key points which she mentioned: 1) Find a passion and work for that. 2) Seek support from family and at work 3) Get engaged in something at work which will not get you go dull She stressed that these “mantras” in our daily life might not help us right away but it would give us that courage and confidence to chase our dreams. We need to shed our inhibitions and make the most of your life. And most important have a dream and dare to make it come true. Gauging by some of the comments we received women employees from Brady Plant and India Shared Services had a good experience in meeting and talking to Priya. Women Employees having a session with Priya Ruchi Singh: “It was a great session by Priya. The way she manages work life balance is a real inspiration and motivation for us, an area where we as a working women struggle a lot.” Rajani Manayangath: “The session was very interesting and motivating for working women. It provided an insight about the potential of a woman, mother and an entrepreneur clubbed in one personality. Her style of speech and ability to engage audience was much commendable.
