On 16 May, the Oxford Migration Studies Society will host a workshop on The Arab Uprisings: Displacement and Migration, in partnership with the RSC, the International Migration Institute (IMI) and the Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS). The aim of this workshop is to investigate the relationship between migration and revolts. Some of the questions that will be addressed include: What is the theoretical link between emigration, immigration and revolts? What have been the short-term and long-term impacts of the uprisings on mobility, migration and displacement in the Middle East and North Africa region in terms of patterns and trends and of institutional responses to movements induced by the Arab Uprising? The workshop will take place at the Department of International Development, University of Oxford, and is part of the Oxford Migration Studies Society Annual Conference. It is free to attend but registration is required. The deadline to register is TOMORROW, 1 May. Read more and register here: oxford-mss/2014/03/26/schedule/
