On 6-24-13 @ 1657hrs under the Command of Captain 5420, the Jackson Mills Fire Company (54) and Jackson Fire #1 (55) were dispatched to Rt. 195 westbound between Exit 22 (Jackson Mills Rd.) and 21 (Rt. 527) for an auto accident. The initial dispatch of a single vehicle into a tree with 3 subjects heavily entrapped was reported by an off duty firefighter passing the scene. It was reported that 2 of the 3 subjects were unresponsive in the vehicle. Cassville Fire (56) was on another call near the Rt. 195 Exit 16 and was also put on the box to assist due the extent of the call. Arriving on the scene almost simultaneously were 4 engines, 1 ladder, 1 rescue and 3 ambulances. Monoc Paramedics also responded with 2 units. All three fire companies worked the extrication of the 3 subjects using multiple tools at once. Helicopters were called for, but were grounded due to weather. All thee subjects were transported to Jersey Shore Hospital via ground transport. Jackson Mills Fire Police units also responded to assist the NJSP and Jackson Police with traffic assistance.
