On 6 August 2014, the Rosetta mission became the first spacecraft to rendezvous with a comet when it met and went into orbit around Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko. After studying the comet for several weeks scientists have identified the perfect spot for the missions lander Philae to touch down, and now the countdown is on. Rosetta will release the Philae lander at 9:35pm NZDT on 12 November at a distance of approximately 22.5 km from the centre of the comet, landing about seven hours later. Take a look at this awesome video released by ESA to find out more!
