On 7/2/2014 at approximately 1700 hours, Officers from the Gold Hill Division were dispatched to a violation of protection order. The reporting party advised the victim was afraid to report the violation and that the suspect was currently at the victim’s residence. As officers attempted to make contact with the suspect outside the home, the suspect fled inside the house without the victim’s permission. The suspect barricaded himself in the basement of the victim’s home and initially refused to exit the residence. Officers with the K-9 Unit responded and after making verbal contact with the suspect, he was convinced to exit the residence. He was not compliant with order to surrender. Officer Keller deployed canine Jovi, who contacted the suspect. Officers took the male into custody and he was treated for injuries he sustained as a result of the canine contact.
