On April 26, 2004, a young(ish) and overwhelmed couple took possession of 1200 modest square feet in one of Ypsilantis Most Desirable Neighborhoods™. With phone and cable service yet to be established, he walked up and down the block, staring at his cell phone, hoping to find a spot with more than one signal bar so he could call for pizza. A second call followed, to ask them if they could bring paper plates, too. Ten years later, theyre still there, albeit less young. Theyre overwhelmed less of the time, and cell service has gotten better. When they order pizza, its usually over wifi. And they think theyre starting to get the hang of this whole homeowner deal.
