On August 12, 2014 at 1043 officers from the Southern Regional Police Department were dispatched to the M&T Bank on E Forrest Ave. in Shrewsbury Borough for a bank robbery. Officers responded to the bank and were assisted by the York Area Regional Police, Pennsylvania State Police and the FBI. Information was obtained that the person who did the robbery may have been driving a tan Jeep. Troopers identified a tan Jeep heading north on Interstate I-83 between Loganville and Leaders Heights, and stopped the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the driver, identified as Saad Adda, was the person who robbed the bank. Saad Adda was interviewed at the police station and confessed to the robbery as well as two other bank robberies in Newberry Twp. The money taken during the robbery was recovered in Adda’s vehicle. Saad Adda, 45 yoa, of the 100 block of S Queen St. in York, was arraigned before Judge Joy on charges of Robbery, Theft, and Receiving Stolen Property. Adda was transported to York County Prison in lieu of $150,000 bail.
