On Changes Chelsea need to make for next season - Chelsea need to revamp the team so that they are able to match the big teams in Europe and the Premier League. They are still in with a shot at the title with the current crop of players, but they arent the same dominant team they were. The first change needed is without a doubt, more goals!!! As much as I love Fernando Torres, he has scored 10 goals in all competitions - this is an appalling record for one of the worlds best striker. Etoo has played OK but the age is a factor and he is not a long term solution. And Ba is not the man to lead the line for Chelsea. The options Chelsea need to look at are Lukaku when he returns and Diego Costa, who has been brilliant this season. My only fear with this Costa of a guy is his attitude/ temperament problem. Chelsea also need to develop someone to partner Matic in the middle of the park. For all my patriotism, Mikel is (not) a brilliant player. Maybe he probably just chose to be dumb. Luiz is too much of a liability and Ramires has lost his spark. Hes become more of a dirty player in recent games. I never really liked him that much. Cole is past his best years and we will also need a left back, so Apzilicueta can play his natural right back. There are reports linking Chelsea with a move for Paulinho - he would provide a good cover for Chelsea, him and Matic in the middle, while the attacking trio of Eden Hazard, Oscar and Willian unlock the opposition defense. Hazard has been blabbing lately. Only God knows if hes on his way out though. Anyway, hes not bigger than the club - so whatever! But I do also believe Chelsea need to turn a little attention to the youth team who they invested so much in. Chelseas youth is very strong at the moment. They are top of the under-21 league and in the FA youth cup final with the under-18s. They have top prospects, a few examples include Kalas who was brilliant against Liverpool, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been touted as the next Michael Ballack and looks very comfortable on the ball. Players like Lukaku, and Courtois need to be placed into the squad next season to allow progression and provide more energetic play which seemed to be lacking from Chelsea this season.
