On Emma Watsons speech at the UN. To begin, I do not understand the controversy at all. Nothing in her speech was militant or derogatory in tone. In fact, it was quite the opposite. So when there are memes calling it a fail and otherwise criticizing it I lean toward thinking that they either didnt watch it or had a predetermined opinion about it due to its feminist topic. Nothing in her speech screamed feminazi. The point wasnt to motivate women to drop who they were and begin doing guy things or for women to otherwise dominate men and rule the world. No, it wasnt a Beyonce video...not in the least. Her speech was very positive in tone toward both women and men. A major focus was on not allowing other people to dictate your satisfaction with yourself based on other peoples gender standards...male or female. For example, the kid that chooses to play on the chess team over the football team isnt any less of a man, hes just different. Yeah, I definitely fall on the side of enjoying Man Shit. I like shooting, Jeeps, Spartan Races, blowing shit up on the 4th of July, being a contextual chauvinist, and otherwise wishing to one day have a life similar to Dan Bilzerian. But, some of the Bros work in an office, wear a tie, hate the outdoors, and couldnt care less about a fun night of getting smashed at the club and chasing women. Likewise, some of my friends that are girls (hehe) like running around, getting dirty, climbing rocks, and playing sports. And, on the record, I dont think said Bros are any less men and the homechicks are any less womanly. So, in that sense, her speech makes a lot of sense. Im definitely one to say, Who gives a shit what other people think. And, really...who gives a shit what other people think? Just be you. Unless you can be Dan Bilzerian. Always be Dan Bilzerian.
