On February 9, 2014, The Kiwanis Club of Gettysburg held its first annual Adams Countys Got Talent to raise money to eliminate maternal/neonatal tetanus. County students grades 6th through 12th entertained the crowds with dancing, music and singing. The event was a huge success, featured 14 acts and a Silent Auction and Chinese Auction, and raised over $1600 to aid in eradicating a terrible disease. Due to the success of the event, the Kiwanis Club have already started planning for a second show in 2015. The Kiwanis would like to thank the following individuals and businesses for their contributions towards the event: to The Aspire Hotel for providing a great location and helpful staff for hosting the event; Guest Judges Dawn Glass, Wendy Heiges and Jane Johnston for their time and constructive feedback; to Dawn Glass for helping to get the word out about the show; Master of Ceremonies Chad-Alan Carr for his time, invaluable guidance and advice; Joe Spadonlini and Etched in Time for the great trophies; the Gettysburg Times for advertising and sales assistance; Community Television for running ads and coverage of the show; The Gettysburg Community Theatre and Vibe Performing Arts for donating prizes; to the Gettysburg Community Theatre and its performers for their special performance at the end of the show; the Gettysburg Hotel, Places Thru Time, Victorian Carriage Company, Maryann Oelkers, Elaine Leslie, The Raphael Inn, Diane Lorden, Howards Foods, and Hot Diggity Dog Vending for donating gifts/services for the auctions; to all the performers for sharing their talents and entertaining the crowd; to all the families, friends and guests for coming out and showing their support; and to the Gettysburg Community as a whole for supporting the Kiwanis Club! Sincerely, Kiwanis Club of Gettysburg-Adams
