On Friday August 1st my husband, our friend, and our dog were involved in an incident that ended in my friend and dog getting stabbed. Here is one of the news articles about the incident: sfchronicle/crime/article/Unprovoked-knife-attack-on-pit-bull-in-San-5662679.php Basically, our dog was attacked by an off leash dog whose owner got stabby. Our friend has got five stitches in his hand, and Skynyrd got two lacerations stitched up and a couple of prescriptions for pain and infections. The vet, Dr. Dorothy Hoppe of Pets Unlimited here in San Francisco did a great job taking care of Skynyrd, but the bill for services rendered is pretty hefty for the likes of Daniel Logan and me. The total cost of the visit is $289 which includes the cost of surgery, medications, and a followup exam to make sure he is healing okay. If we reach that goal, I want to get Skynyrd some bully sticks for being such a brave and stoic boy throughout this whole ordeal. If we get more than that, I would like to find an affordable pet friendly motel to stay in for a spell... Somewhere quiet and clean and comfortable while he rests and heals.
