On Friday, December 19 AND Sunday, December 21 from 2 pm to 8 pm, the Elves need help at the North Pole (1402 Regent Street)! We need help sorting and wrapping the presents for each individual child that needs a Christmas Eve or Christmas Day delivery from Santa. If youd like to bring tape or wrapping supplies, thatd be helpful, but not necessary to volunteer. Every night, over 1,000 children in the greater Madison, WI area go to sleep without permanent shelter. As the days shorten, these children often worry that Santa might not visit because he has no chimney to slide down. Santas Without Chimneys is an annual event designed to raise awareness of poverty in our communities and deliver personalized gifts DIRECTLY to those children in need. Its also a ton of fun or everyone involved. Santas Without Chimneys is a nonprofit coalition effort to provide holiday gifts of new and like-new toys, books, and winter clothing to the homeless children of Madison, WI. We work through local schools to contact homeless families and teens and ask for wishlists from each child. Then, we carefully select donations that best fit each childs wishes, so that everyone can receive a sack of gifts that is truly their own.
