On Friday, the U.S. House of Representatives approved critical funding to address the immigration crisis at our border. This bill would improve border security and provide the resources necessary to manage the influx of Central American immigrants crossing into the United States on a daily basis. While 223 members of the House supported this pivotal legislation, Elizabeth Esty again chose politics over principle in voting against the proposal. Instead of supporting measures that would have helped to stop the flow of illegal immigrants to the United States, she took to social media and resorted to the same tired Washington politics of division. I call on Elizabeth Esty to stop the political games and tell voters in the 5th District how she plans to address the crisis facing Connecticut and the nation.
