On Her JOB: If you think the newly appointed St. Louis City - TopicsExpress

On Her JOB: If you think the newly appointed St. Louis City License Collector Mavis Thompson, Esquire isnt serious about her JOB, just ask three or more unauthorized vendors who had the nerve to tread on the Cardinals home turf -- Busch Stadium and sell their wares -- often overpriced, and taking dough away from the Citys coffers, and presumably other authorized vendors. Thompsons troops are always roaming around the City looking for vendors and businesses, who are not in compliance with the commandment that thou shall have a license when operating a business in the City. During the Word Series games her department was on heightened alert with field representatives roaming on foot and in cars trying to spot those unlicensed or unauthorized vendors. So in collaboration with the St. Louis Cardinals, Thompson was serious as cancer in an effort to make sure that there was no illegal vending during the World Series. The Cardinals also have what we call a clean zone, so even if they had a license, permission had to be granted by the Cardinals, if they desired to have that product available to their baseball fans and visitors during the World Series. “It is important that we work together to protect our fans and our authorized vendors, said St. Louis Cardinals’ spokesperson, Ron Watermon, this past weekend. We are pleased to work with the Office of the License Collector to make sure that happens.” So this past weekend weve been informed by Thompson that about three unauthorized vendors were booted out of the area; but one of those capitalistic vendors had refused to take the warning from one of her hardworking field representative; and the St. Louis Police Department had to be called. One then assumes that they moved on, or were given a citation.
