On January 11, an elderly man was transported to the hospital after a fire in his home that was caused by the improper use of extension cords. There were NO working smoke alarms in the house. So tomorrow, we will be canvassing that neighborhood to check and make sure those who have smoke alarms already are keeping them in working order and for those who dont, well be installing FREE ones where needed.
