On January 20th, Minot State University’s English Composition class volunteered at the Roosevelt Park Zoo as part of their annual Day of Service. The class, their instructor; Margaret Sherve - Assistant Professor of English, and Beth Odahlen – Director for the MSU Center for Engaged Teaching and Learning, eagerly made enrichment foods for various animals throughout the Roosevelt Park Zoo. Enrichment foods are used for training purposes, evaluating an animals’ health without causing them stress or to stimulate the animals’ natural behavior to help keep them mentally and physically fit.
