On July 29, 2004 at about 4:45 p.m I was on my way to celebrate a co-worker’s departure when I received a telephone call. It was Ray Rainey and he said “Bishop said be at his office at 6.” My heart dropped into my stomach! I cancelled my plans and I called Karen Satterwhite- DuPree and asked her to pick up Brandon from the daycare because I was on my way to GET MARRIED. It was Friday. I had no dress and was having a bad hair day but I headed down to 920 Olive to marry the man I had fallen in love with after being in a relationship with him for only 5 months. We met. Bishop gave us our vows and then as he looked at us in our jeans and unexpectancy, he said “Well…you’re just as married as anybody else!” That was 10 years ago today and I must say that I still feel as happy today as I did that day when we walked/ran out of Bishop W.H. White Sr.s office hearts racing and grins uncontrollable. My husband has been such a blessing to my life. He is God-fearing and sincerely loves the Lord. He is generous, loving, and the sweetest man I know. He takes care of me and our children, he supports me in everything that I do and has my back in everything I go through. He is the man of my dreams and I don’t think I could have asked for more. I love you Ray! Happy Anniversary!!!
