On June 26th Michael Labelle was riding a bike on his way to work and was struck by a vehicle. His injuries were so severe he had to be sent to the trauma unit in New Orleans. He has a broken collarbone, broken rib which punctured a lung a broken ankle which requires surgery and several breaks in his back. 75% of his back and left side are covered in road rash and the shoulder and neck had severe lacerations. The hospital took 12 hours to even clean the grass and dirt out of his cuts and by then he was running a fever. Because of the fever they could not operate on his arm and he will now need skin graphs and plastic surgery in the fture. once released he will need full time care, and special equipment. His mother Stacie, whom is a cruelty investigator for the Louisiana Human Society will have to take a leave of absence from work to be his full time care giver. Stacie has done so much helping animals and being their voice. Its time we give back. She desperately needs help with medical bill equipment and other expenses that Michael will incur. Please just imagine for a moment if this was your child. I cant stand the thought of it being mine.
