On March 24th, 1997, Rodney K. Stanberry started a 20 year prison - TopicsExpress

On March 24th, 1997, Rodney K. Stanberry started a 20 year prison sentence for crimes he did not commit. After his appeals were exhausted, he voluntarily turned himself in to law enforcement, again, believing that the system would correct itself. 17 years later, the system continues to let him down. He was denied parole on August 28th, 2013 and Mobile County District Attorney Ashley Rich publicly stated that she opposed his parole. Rodney faces another 3 years in prison, his scheduled release date is in March 2017. I was able to visit Rodney a couple of weeks ago, along with his father and son, he is in good spirits, he is a mentally strong individual, and he is grateful for your continued support. I told him what I’ve mentioned here, I’m not giving up until Rodney is FREE AND EXONERATED, and I hope that is the case with you. If we can get an attorney to file a federal Habeas petition, perhaps he can get a new trial. If DA Ashley Rich would acknowledge series problems with his case, perhaps he could get a new trial. You can call her office (251) 574-8400 or [email protected]. Here is a blog I posted last year as Rodney began his 17th year in prison. Since this is the conclusion of his 17th year, I am reposting. I will post a new blog tomorrow- a modified version of this one.
