On March 28th of this year, my sister (Amy) and I had our last shopping trip together at Joanns in Allen Park. She wanted something to do while she was at chemo and she had recently taken up needle point. Since my daughter/her niece (Heather) was pregnant, she decided to make her some baby bibs as a gift. She worked on those bibs, to pass the time, at multiple chemo sessions and we would talk about the day Madison would be with us. Sadly, Amy became ill and started having seizures that made her unable to finish the gift. She lost the vision and manual dexterity to thread the needle and would constantly tell me how sorry she was. A short 5 weeks after our trip to Joanns, Amy passed away after suffering brain damage from one of the seizures. Afterwards, people ask me many times if I needed anything and there was really nothing that anyone could do...except one of my dearest friends who knew that Amy had been unable to finish the baby bibs. Cheryl Benson insisted that she would love to do this as a final gift to Amy and a special gift for Heather (& Maddie). Well, the bibs were recently finished and I know the rain today was Amys happy tears as that special gift finally was worn by her great niece 4 1/2 months after her passing.
