On May 8th, 2014, deputies responded to the 100 block of Clifton Rd. in reference to theft. Upon arrival, they contacted the victim and discovered that several checks were stolen. Deputies made contact with the suspect, identified as Scott Allen Tyler, and he was arrested on the Theft. Tyler was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center and later released on a $250 bond. On May 9th, Detectives from the Boyce Sub-station were contacted by the victim who discovered more forged checks and a stolen aluminum canoe. Detectives investigated the allegations and found enough probable cause to secure warrants for Tyler’s arrest for Forgery and Theft. Detectives located the stolen canoe at a local scrap yard. On May 10th, Detectives arrested Tyler on 24 counts of Forgery and 2 counts of Theft
